DWG FastView is fast, precise and free way to open CAD files.

Licenses for CAD software is often expensive, but DWG FastView is an example of a highly polished and robust CAD application that is provided free of charge and without obligation. DWG FastView by GstarCAD for Windows supports Windows 10 and is available in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. It is also available in a Web edition and for Android and iOS, and you can share files between them.

GstarCAD also offers DWG FastView Plus, which is a paid version of the software with advanced features. The developer also offers a trial version of the Plus edition, which is nice since you can test the additional features and determine if the upgrade is right for you.

DWG FastView for Windows, in particular, is a computer-aided design or CAD program. This application is meant to be lightweight, fast and easy to use. Calling any CAD program easy to use may seem a bit silly, but relatively, this a very simple and intuitive program. The layout is well-organized make it simple to lock, unlock and freeze distinct layers as well as zoom and pan.

The program lets you have multiple objects open concurrently. There are no practical limitations, just theoretical ones. You can open these files through the menu system or just drag and drop them. DWG FastView supports 3D models as well as 2D vector images. As you would expect, the software is compatible with both the DWG and DXF format. Additionally, you can export these objects as is or after adjustments are made into a wide range of image types, including BMP, JPG and PNG.

DWG FastView also has full print capabilities. It has an integrate print preview component that is much more sophisticated than the basic Windows solution. This tool lets you dictate exactly what the print will look like before you commit to it. Printing is multiplatform as well, so you can print from drawings not just in the Windows program but from the webpage or a mobile app.

GstarCAD also provides free cloud storage with the caveat that you have to register a valid account. Account registration is free, however. Cloud access lets you access your files from anywhere and makes synchronization across the platforms even easier, and if you work within a team, you can share your designs with the team via convenient links and even set permissions broadly or on a per-item basis.
